Signs for Business

I've been looking at business signs, lately.  Most companies have door signs, building signs, and even stand alone signs.  Branding and logos are an important part of having a business.  At www.ImpactSigns.com, you can have custom signs created just for your business.  Here are a few below of their beautiful work.  I was amazed at all the different types of signs they can create.  Here is a cool metal logo sign for Panasonic!

Etched glass I see everywhere I go, in every office building.

Here is my favorite one.  It's a brass plaque for Juicy Couture - very hip!

How about a memorial plaque?  They can handle that, too.

I also didn't realize how lucrative this business could be.  Take a look around next time at all the different signs over shops and restaurants.  I can't stop looking and comparing them now.

Fancy Friday Blog Hop #28

It's the 28th week of the Fancy Friday Blog Hop!  Thank you to everyone who comes by and links up.  I picked three great featured projects for this week.

First, from Kathe With an E, we have this Ghastly Gathering.  I love the purple with black, so fancy.

Next is this simple idea of Halloween Eek! Jars, by Artsy Fartsy Mama.  Love love love this idea!

And last is this adorably easy Kitty Pumpkin from Pam's Party and Practical Tips.  I plan on making some painted pumpkins this year, but there is not enough time in the day.  This one looks simple, though.

Cassie's Angels - Just a Dollar or Two

I got an email today, from my sister-in-law, about her cousin.  These are pictures of Cassie.  She is 7 years old and has a rare form of cancer.  She needs to travel to New York for treatment, but her insurance can't pay to get her there, and she is quickly reaching a point where Insurance stop loss will kick in.  If you can even spare a few dollars and can pass on the word it would help.  Do you belong to a group that would be willing to do a fundraiser, or match your donation?  Donate by going to www.CassiesAngels.com

I am a firm believer in one person can change the world.  If each of you just donate $1, that would make a huge difference.  I've donated, because I am happy to support a great cause, and giving a small child another chance at life is a great cause.  So please, just $1 or $5 would make a difference in her life.  You can print a donation receipt, too.  Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.  I believe what we put out there, we get back.  Let's put some good out there for Cassie!

My Purple Toes and My Purple Kisses

I got these two books to review in the mail, last week.  My girls love to review books with me, and they were excited about finding out what was up with the purple toes and kisses.  The author, Blair Hahn, was inspired by a pedicure he did with his daughter.  I think it is so great when a dad takes time to do something girly with his daughter.  One time, the girls' dad had a pedicure, and painted his toes black.  They could really relate to "My Purple Toes".

My older daughter loved the illustrations so much, she started copying them.  I think she is doing a really great job here.  Anything that helps them practice art, gets two thumbs up from me.  I love when books can do more than just entertain for a few minutes.

The second book was just as good, with the mommy and her purple kisses.  I've gotten my girls a few times with lipstick kisses, so I enjoyed "My Purple Kisses".

To sum up my review, I definitely recommend these two books.  They are great additions to your home library.  Go check them out!

Canvas Tarps

I did a previous blog post about recycled tarps made into beautiful creations, like purses, art, and patio coverings.  Just had to write about canvas tarps again, because I found some interesting recycled creations on Pinterest.

Check out this sofa, made from truck tarps, by Anthropologie!

I really want this beautiful bag by Freitag.

This hat made by Real Deal Brazel is pretty cool.  Woody Harrelson wears one.

I get obsessed about things, especially recycled things.  I think using old canvas tarps is a great way to use your creativity.

Tile Coasters

The other day, I found this great idea on Pinterest.  You just need 4x4 tiles, scrapbook paper, mod podge, felt, and clear spraypaint.

 Pinned Image

I had mod podge, scrapbook paper, and felt on hand.  The spraypaint cost $4 and the tiles were $.16 each.  I can make more for little gifts.  Great deal and great project.  Here are my new coasters.
